Benjamin Netanyahu wins defamation lawsuit against former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Elmort. The prime minister-designate addressed the court against Ehud’s remark that Netanyahu and his family were mentally ill. The court also ruled that Ehud should pay 62,500 Israeli shekels (about Rs. 14.76 lakh) in compensation.
Ehud, prime minister in 2006, resigned in 2009 following corruption allegations. Then, when Netanyahu came to power, the hostility between the two escalated. Last April, Ehud made a controversial remark during a television interview.
