The actor, producer and singer in the skin of a seducer in the middle of New York for a new series? No, it’s not a spin-off on Barney Stinson, a cult character from How I Met Your Mother. After The Disastrous Adventures of the Baudelaire Orphansthe 48-year-old actor will be back in a series this summer with Uncoupled. The former interpreter of Barney or Count Olaf will play the character of Michael, a newly single man after the departure of her husband with whom he shared 17 years of common life. Exhausted by a difficult separation, devastated at the thought of losing the one he considered to be his better half, and frightened at the idea of finding himself alone as a gay man in his forties living in New York, Michael dreads this new stage of his life. ” Breakups are tough, but single life doesn’t have to be.”, can we read in the trailer. Expected on Netflix (who is in legal turmoil), the series consists of eight episodes which will arrive on July 29.
A technical and artistic distribution familiar from the small screen
Created by Darren Star (Sex and the City, Emily in Paris) et Jeffrey Richman (Modern Family), Uncoupled will be able to count on a production by Andrew Fleming and Zoe Cassavetes. Also, Tony Hernandez (Younger) et Lilly Burns (Emily in Paris, Younger) officiate as executive producers on this expected show. Rounding out the cast, Tisha Campbell (My family first) will play Suzanne, a business partner of Michael and Emerson Brooks (The Last Ship) will be a weatherman named Billy. For their part, Brooks Ashmanskas (The Good Lord Bird) will be an art dealer known as Stanley, and we will find Marcia Gay Harden (The Morning Show) as Claire, an Upper East Side socialite.
