In ‘Mr. Frank Visser: how are you doing now?’ Viktor Brand (52) travels to the far north to see how the neighborhood dispute between Pieter and Henny and their neighbor Anja ended. Now it appears that one of them has left without a trace after an unfavorable ruling from Mr. Frank Visser.
“They have indicated that they do not want to cooperate”
Viktor Brand is going to the Frisian town of Arum today. Pieter and Henny claim that their neighbor Anja stole a piece of land from them after installing a new fence. “They are sickening characters,” Henny says about neighbor Anja.
The couple therefore demands that the fence be placed on the property line and if that does not happen, they ‘kick everything away herself’. According to neighbor Anja, the fence has been in the same place for thirty years and she is not at fault in this matter. In addition, Anja also has enormous problems with the elderberry tree that is on the property boundary. “Makes a mess.”
After Mr. Frank Visser came by with a surveyor, it turns out that the fence is indeed not on the property line and he states in his statement that the fence must be moved. Anja can also decide whether she wants to have the tree removed, since the property line runs straight through the tree.
When Viktor returns to the Frisian village, he immediately notices something. Pieter and Henny’s house has been sold. “Nice, isn’t it? That’s why the flag is hanging out,” says Anja with a smile on her face. She is finally at peace now that the neighbors have left and in the meantime she has put up the fences on the property line.
Viktor is also curious about what the neighbors look like now, but when he looks over the fence, he doesn’t know what he sees. “They pulled everything out.” The entire garden is in disarray and there is no trace of Pieter and Henny to be seen.
Anja has not yet met her new neighbors, but she hopes that they will be ‘nice and pleasant’ neighbors. Viktor thus draws the conclusion that fences are vital for having good neighbors.
Unfortunately, Viktor was no longer able to speak to neighbors Pieter and Henny. “They have indicated that they do not want to cooperate.” They did say that they now live in a nice place.
