NEC talent Musaba makes million transfer to AS Monaco | NOW

Anthony Musaba signed a five-season contract with AS Monaco on Friday. NEC reportedly receives 2.5 million euros for the nineteen-year-old attacker.

NEC reports on its website that the club has also negotiated a resale percentage on the self-trained player. The wing striker also played for four years in the youth of Vitesse, but returned in 2018 to ‘his’ Nijmegen.

NEC General Manager Wilco van Schaijk is proud that a self-trained player makes such a big transfer to the number nine of Ligue 1. “This transfer is confirmation of the path we have taken regarding our policy.”

“We made a conscious decision to train and develop talent within NEC,” says Van Schaijk. “This is a nice compliment to everyone who has been working hard and passionately every day for many years so that such million transfers can take place.”

NEC wants to strengthen selection with transfer yield

Musaba made his debut in the first team in April last year. In total, he came to 28 games and seven goals. “We are going to miss Anthony with his specific qualities within our selection”, expects the CEO.

NEC had a disappointing season and was only eighth when the Kitchen Champion Division ended due to the corona virus. Van Schaijk wants to strengthen the selection with the transfer fee from Musaba.

“Where we previously had the option of attracting four or five reinforcements, we can now probably get at least one additional player.” NEC already reached Jordy Bruijn (sc Heerenveen) and Elayis Tavsan (Sparta Rotterdam) earlier this summer.
