On Saturday in Rūjiena and Stende, the record of the maximum air temperature of June 27 was corrected, the agency LETA clarified at the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center.
On June 27, daily maximum air temperature records were broken at several observation stations.
At Rūjiena and Stende observation stations, the air warms up to +30.7 degrees, which is a new Latvian record on June 27, thus surpassing the +30.6 degrees recorded in 1972 in Jelgava and Priekuli.
Also on Friday, new maximum air temperature records were set for June 26 – the air temperature in Kolka warms up to +27.8 degrees, but in Pāvilosta the air temperature reached +29.1 degrees.
