Jean-Pierre Francke, 59, lives in Vaucelles. He started playing music at the age of 9, in Violette in the Pas-de-Calais. “I started with the drum first, then the trumpet. At the Philharmonie, I practiced the bugle and the drums ”.
Military music and fire brigade
The musician did his military service in the 32nd city of military music in Caen where he was a trumpeter, buglist and bugle. He adds: “I led the Bayeux fire brigade band for 28 years and from time to time I came to lend a hand to the music of Littry”.
When he left the direction of the Bayeux fire brigade, ten years ago, he returned to the Philharmonie des Mineurs in Molay-Littry where he plays the trumpet. Jean-Pierre remembers: “With the fire brigade, it was a great pleasure”.
“Like Dalida, I want to die on stage or with the trumpet in hand!” “
The musician is not about to stop playing: “I will play until the end. Like Dalida, I want to die on stage or with the trumpet in my hand! For me, music is an addiction and here, at “Philhar”, it is practiced in a very pleasant family spirit ”.
