NBA Sets Attendance Record for Second Consecutive Year as Celtics Lead the Way with Porzingis

In the National Basketball Association (NBA) set an attendance record for the second year in a row, the league reports.

According to the NBA, in this regular season, both the total attendance record, the average number of spectators who reached each game, and the arena filling record were set.

This season, 22,538,518 watched the games in person, which is more than 300,000 better than last season’s average record (22,234,502). Also, 873 matches were recorded in which all tickets were sold (the previous record for last season was 791), 71% of matches were sold out (the season approx. behind 63%), an average of 18,324 fans attended each game (last year 18,077) and the best overall attendance ever was achieved – 98%.

Twelve teams played all their home games in front of sellouts – Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers, Phoenix Suns, Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz .

The NBA “play-in” tournament will be held from April 16 to 19, and the “play off” games will begin on April 20. In the Western Conference, Oklahoma City Thunder is seeded with the number one seed, and the main favorite in the East is the Boston Celtics represented by the Latvian Kristaps Porzingis.
