In these weeks Mark Turmell, the creator of NBA Jam, is telling several anecdotes about the game. One of the most curious, who has become a real urban legend, is the confirmation of a cheat that prevented the Bulls to score last against Pistons.
“Support the Pistons and work in Chicago in the height of the era Michael Jordan it was hard. For this reason, during the creation of the game we wrote a special code that prevents the Bulls (the Chicago team) from scoring against the Detroit Pistons at the last second. In fact Mark Turmell already had confirmed this thing in past years, but he hadn’t done it with this precision. He also told how the game was able to raise a billion dollars in coins in a year in the arcade.
