Expected for September 4, NBA 2K21 will offer a little taste to players starting August 24. This is the date when the playable demo will be available on PS4, XBox One and Switch. The first is major changes to the Pro Stick to allow new dribbling mechanics.
- Hold the right stick down = jump shot
- Hold the right stick left or right = escape dribble moves
- Hold the right stick up = signature size-ups
- Press the right stick = fast 1-on-1 dribbling
- Press the right stick while sprinting = fast “momentum” dribbling
Another novelty: the shooting gauge, which was until then a time bar, becomes a targeting system. There are also new types of shots, new styles of iconic defensive movements and the stronger presence of great players in the racket.
Finally, thanks to a suggestion from Damian Lillard, present on the game’s cover for current generation consoles, players will now be able to create large playmakers (up to 2m03).
