Navalny urges French voters to vote for Macron

Opposition leader Alexei Navalny, imprisoned in Russia, on Wednesday urged French voters to support incumbent President Emmanuel Macron in the upcoming second round of the presidential election on Sunday, accusing his far-right opponent Marina Lepena’s party of ties to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

“I unequivocally and unequivocally call on the French to vote for Emmanuel Macron on April 24,” Navalny said on Twitter, criticizing the Lepena party for receiving a nine-million-euro loan from Putin’s infamous money laundering office in the First Czech-Russian Bank.

“Would you like a French politician to take a loan from Cosa Nostra? Then here it is,” the Russian opposition explained.
