Nature Documentary 'Wolf' Narrated by Matthijs van Nieuwkerk Ranks as One of Top 3 Programs on Sunday Night

Of documentary Wolf was one of the three most watched programs on television on Sunday night. This is evident from figures from the Stichting Kijkonderzoek (SKO). The nature film attracted 683,000 viewers. The documentary produced by BNNVara is narrated by Matthijs van Nieuwkerk, who has not been seen on television since the end of 2022.

Incidentally, Van Nieuwkerk already spoke in the film before he and BNNVara parted ways because of the publication de Volkskrant about workplace misconduct on his program The world goes on. Recently, broadcaster Jan Slagter of Max announced that he is working on a comeback of Van Nieuwkerk on television.

Previously was Wolf also a success in the cinemas. The film about the return of the wolf to the Netherlands attracted more than 10,000 visitors, after which the documentary by director Cees van Kempen was awarded a Crystal Film.

Traditionally, the best-watched program on Sunday evening was the NOS News of 8 p.m., for which nearly 1.3 million people turned on the television. The silver was ahead Postcode Lottery One against 100 on RTL 4, which 694,000 people watched.
