The Mainspitze between the Main Canal and the Main near Gerlachshausen has been the open-air home of the Schwarzach scouts for many years. Many scout meetings have taken place in the open air in the middle of nature. Because the lower nature conservation authority has refused its approval, the scouts cannot celebrate their 60th anniversary on the Mainspitze in August. An alternative location is now the meadow near where the Schwarzach flows into the Main in Münsterschwarzach. Schwarzach’s municipal council unanimously approved the change of location at its meeting on Tuesday.
The festival should last ten days from August 14th. The highlight is a public day on August 21 with music in the evening. The plot of land on which the celebrations are now being held belongs to the Münsterschwarzach Abbey and the Memmel family and is located along State Road 2271. Parking is available nearby. According to the announcement, there will be a procession followed by a festival service in the Stadtschwarzach church.
Criticism of the negative behavior of the nature conservation authority
The decision was not difficult for the council members, because the Würzburg State Building Authority had also approved the implementation. The municipal administration includes the required conditions in the approval. The scouts have already obtained the approval of the water law department in the Kitzingen district office with regard to heavy rain events and flooding, explained second mayor Johanna Sendner.
Georg Ruhsert criticized the negative behavior of the nature conservation authority as not “proportionate”. “There have never been any problems there,” Anette Hillenbrand couldn’t understand either, why the scouts can’t celebrate on the Mainspitze and “have been thrown between their legs”.

The market square in Stadtschwarzach will be completely closed from April 19th to 22nd. The reason for the closure is paving work in the crossing area, which the municipal building yard is carrying out on its own.
The doctors in the practice on Hörblacher Straße wrote a letter of complaint to the community. You do not agree to erecting a boulder and warning barge at the junction with Albrecht-Dürer-Strasse. New locking system for the elementary school
