Nature cleaning operation this Sunday, August 30

A mask, a pair of gloves and plastic bottles to collect cigarette butts: this is the paraphernalia that participants in the second nature clean-up operation organized by the Cleanwalker movement will have to bring.

On August 9, around thirty volunteers took part in the first march in Hayange. Dozens of bottles filled with cigarette ends and several trash bags of rubbish had then been collected in the city and in the undergrowth. Among the waste found: plastic, glass and other messy papers.

All over France, volunteers are launching

Building on the success of this first edition, the instigator of the operation, Elisa Olivier, had promised to put the cover back. It’s done. This 20-year-old student from Marspich joined the Cleanwalker movement a few months ago. The aim is to raise awareness of waste reduction and environmental protection. All over France, similar marches are being organized and thousands of volunteers take part in these safeguard operations.

For this second edition in the Fensch valley, participants will meet at 9 a.m. on Place Victor-Hugo, in Nilvange. All the goodwill are welcome. The only requirement is to wear a mask.

If the enthusiasm is confirmed, the event could be repeated at regular intervals in various towns of Moselle. In the meantime, a third march is already planned: it will be Sunday September 6 in Thionville.
