Nationwide Strike at German Airports Demanded by Union for Higher Salaries

Large parts of the security staff will therefore stop work. The union is demanding higher salaries. There is a strike at several German airports.

The walkout is expected to last all day. Employees in the areas of aviation security, passenger screening, personal and goods screening, cargo screening and service areas are called upon. A rally is scheduled to take place in front of Terminal 1 at 8 a.m.

The background is a nationwide strike at airports. Verdi is currently negotiating with employers about a new collective agreement for security guards at airports. The union is demanding, among other things, higher salaries. No agreement has been reached in the three rounds of negotiations so far. Negotiations will continue on February 6th.
