NASA will send a scientific probe to the unique asteroid Psyche

Program Manager Lindy Elkins-Tanton noted that, according to astronomical observations, the celestial body consists mainly of metal and is one of the largest asteroids known to science. Her words are quoted by the TASS agency.
The unmanned station is expected to launch in 2022 and reach the target in four years. The researchers intend to consider the hypothesis according to which Psyche is part of the metal core of a larger celestial body.
The asteroid has been known to people since the middle of the 19th century.
