A strange object in the form of a kind of long, tangled string was captured by one of the cameras of the NASA Mars rover. Its origin has not yet been explained with certainty. However, experts believe it is likely a piece of man-made space debris. Both the Mirror and the Daily Star reported on it.
NASA’s Perseverance rover, which patrols the Red Planet, has photographed a large number of strange objects in less than two years. The latest one is the strangest and most difficult to explain yet. A ball of “Space Spaghetti” captured by one of the rover’s front-facing cameras for monitoring threatening objects has sparked a wave of speculation.

NASA experts say that the object is most likely a piece of artificial material from the rover’s descent phase to the planet’s surface. It wouldn’t be the first time. On June 13, the rover surprised with a photo of a strange-looking object stuck to a rock. It was a square sheet of metallic appearance covered with mysterious dots.
“Our team noticed something unexpected: It’s a piece of thermal insulation that may have come loose when it landed from the rocket’s thruster in 2021,” the rover team said on Twitter. NASA JPL spokesman Andrew Good confirmed that this object was almost certainly part of the heat shield. „The question remains as to which part of the spacecraft it may be from. The team thinks the relegation stage is a real possibility.” he told CNET.
The strange location is a mystery
However, the descent took place two kilometers further, so it is not clear how the thing got here – whether it could have landed here by itself or was blown away by the wind from the place it landed. While the recently found “space spaghetti” is, NASA says, likely a scrap of material from a parachute or some other part of the lander.
At least conspiracy theorists are clear on that. As DailyStar writes, they are convinced that they also saw coffins, bones and maybe even Bigfoot in the images sent by NASA’s high-tech rover. YouTube show Paranormal Crucible in response to the “space spaghetti” photo, he tweeted to NASA: “Mars does have the ability to sustain exotic life forms. With all the images that NASA has released so far, we can clearly state that life does exist on the red planet.”
