In the front line to check the impact of the distinction, the tourist office of the city of Nancy very quickly noticed a growing attractiveness. “At the reception, tourists came to see the favorite monument of the French,” confides Vincent Dubois, director of communication for the tourist office. “During the All Saints holidays, attendance was very good. The hotels were almost full, the restaurants and bars around the square too”. “Between September 2021 and December, the tourist office recorded an increase in its attendance of 10% compared to the period before Covid”, breathes Mathieu Klein.

But what could only have been a fashion effect finally became permanent. “We saw that people had not forgotten and that they continued to come to Nancy especially for that, during the Easter holidays”.

A new communication campaign

Already highlighted in September in a major communication campaign, the distinction will resume its place in the center of advertising posters in a few French cities. “The new slogan will be:” For the summer, prefer Nancy “, explains Mathieu Klein, contacted on Tuesday. “It’s obviously a nod to the distinction of favorite monument,” he adds. So, in a very short time, the Bordeaux people for example, will be able to see emerging in their city, a poster in the colors of the ducal city. The attractiveness will therefore not stop on such a good path.
