NAC takes first points in a month, debutant Fofana gives Young PSV victory | NOW

NAC Breda took the first points in more than a month in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday evening. The team of coach Maurice Steijn won 1-4 at MVV in Maastricht. In Stadium De Vliet, debutant Fodé Fofana led the troubled Young PSV to the win over FC Den Bosch: 1-2.

NAC was still behind halfway through the first half by Koen Kostons. Two minutes later, Sydney van Hooijdonk restored the balance from a penalty and shortly before half-time Huseyin Dogan gave the visitors the lead.

Lex Immers increased the margin immediately after the interruption by working in a cross from Robin Schouten from close by. In injury time, substitute DJ Buffonge secured the final chord in the first victory for NAC since October 2 (4-0 against Young Ajax).

In recent weeks, NAC lost to SC Cambuur (0-4), Almere City FC (2-0) and NEC (0-1). In between, the Brabanders, who had to contend with many corona infections within the selection, also suffered a painful defeat against Go Ahead Eagles (6-0) in the TOTO KNVB Cup.

Thanks to the victory in Maastricht, NAC climbs to fourth place with 21 points from 10 games. MVV can be found at the bottom with nine points from eleven matches.

Debutant Fofana leads Young PSV to victory

Young PSV won 1-2 at FC Den Bosch thanks to two hits from Fofana. The eighteen-year-old attacker opened the score in the ninth minute and was again accurate halfway through the second half. Romano Postema then brought back the tension on behalf of the home team.

Fofana was one of the many players at Jong PSV who made their debut in professional football. Due to the many corona infections among the people of Eindhoven, no fewer than nine players from PSV Onder18 were in the match selection.

Young PSV rises to a place in the middle bracket with the victory. FC Den Bosch is penultimate with eight points.

Later in the evening there are two more games scheduled in the Kitchen Champion Division. Leader Almere City receives Young AZ at 9 p.m. and NEC plays at home against Helmond Sport at the same time.
