Mystery surrounding finding six skulls from the Netherlands at American airport | Abroad

The packages were discovered at O’Hare International Airport in the largest city in the US state of Illinois. In the boxes, engaged forensic officers found six human skulls that had been shipped from our country to Iowa, about three hundred miles to the east of the United States.

The skulls were already discovered at the end of March, but the find was only announced on Friday, among others by NBC 11 News† Two browned specimens can be seen on photos taken by customs. The skulls seem a bit older given the color.

The three separate packages were sent by the same person, each contained two skulls, and were seized. They were inspected after X-rays showed abnormalities. There was no information on the package receipts that pointed to the human remains.

The skulls have been sent to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for further research. Officials are investigating the remarkable incident, but have not yet provided further details. Nothing has yet been announced about the sender from the Netherlands.
