Dr Piprim explained that most of the mysterious acute kidney disease patients in Indonesia are now under the age of five. Although in fact there are also patients under one year and over five years old.
He stressed that it is now important for parents and caregivers to pay attention to the frequency and volume of their child’s urination. If there is a reduction in urination and it even stops altogether, parents need to be alert and perform an examination. Even if it is a record, parents shouldn’t panic too much.
“Pee is 1 ml or 1 cc per kilogram of body weight per hour. So if a child is one year old (weight) it is 10 kilograms, in 24 hours it is 240 cc. So about a glass of mineral water, that’s 24 hours. of urine There aren’t many one-year-olds, ”explained Dr Piprim.
