My Electricity 4.0 and net-billing will increase the demand for energy storage

My Current 4.0 program. encourages not only new prosumers, but also the current ones who decide to switch to the new net-billing system. This version of the program differs from the others in terms of funding. This time, you can get money for electricity and heat storage and intelligent energy management systems.

As a result of rising energy prices and the inefficiency of power grids, it is necessary to increase the storage potential of electricity and heat. And at all levels – prosumers, RES producers, network operators and aggregators.

Energy storage facilities are becoming more and more popular

The My Current 4.0 program is a response to emerging problems and an opportunity for dynamic development in the field of energy storage.

– The growing interest in the subject of energy storage is directly proportional to the funding that appears. Manitu Solar currently has three photovoltaic warehouses in Warsaw, Gdańsk and Wrocław. For some time we have been observing the interest in the topic of energy storage and the adaptation of photovoltaic installations to self-consumption, which is why we have expanded our portfolio with energy storage – says Piotr Kisiel, Manitu Solar Managing Director.

What are the benefits of investing in a home energy storage?

First of all, energy storage protects against interruptions in energy supply, thanks to which entrepreneurs can protect themselves against financial losses.

They also provide resistance to any power failures, weather anomalies and other unexpected events. Moreover, they cooperate with power generators.

The benefits of this fact were noticed by prosumers in many European countries a few years ago. Therefore, their legislators, to support the development of this market, introduced the possibility of obtaining subsidies for the purchase of energy storage.

Co-financing in this form is an impulse for the development of energy storage systems throughout the country. In addition, the government program gives the opportunity to receive a partial refund of funds for energy management systems in a situation where, apart from photovoltaics, there are also energy storage facilities.

If the prosumer has already received funding for a photovoltaic installation, but plans to expand the system with these elements and switch to net-billing, he can also count on additional financial support.

Energy storage can play an important role in the energy transformation process. Government funding programs increase their popularity in Poland. As a result of the new regulations, you can receive an additional payment of up to PLN 7,500.

Co-financing of energy storage under the My Electricity 4.0 Program will be important not only for prosumers, but also for the economic development of Poland.

– In the event of a power failure, the photovoltaic installation itself does not give much, it simply stops working. Energy stores are important as they store excess energy and make it possible to use it in the event of a failure. That is why it is so important to invest in them – says Tomasz Łazarek, Manitu Solar’s commercial director.

Self-consumption of electricity from photovoltaics will minimize the problem of blackouts?

Focusing on the maximum use of the generated energy without transferring it to the grid is an entrepreneurial approach that ensures energy security both in home energy storage with low power, as well as in large enterprises.

Energy storage means increasing the efficiency of energy management from photovoltaic installations. Their operation also helps to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and influences education in the field of respect for the environment.

– In addition to cleaner air, it also means Poland’s energy independence. That is why it is so important that the social awareness in this topic grows every day – summarizes Piotr Kisiel.
