In this regard, Dr. Amjad Al-Haddad, consultant in allergy and immunology at the Serum and Vaccine Center, confirmed that the Corona virus is not done with the world yet, as some believe, and the biggest proof of this is the ’emergence of a mutant on the Day of Resurrection in China.

Al-Haddad said: “It is undeniable that the Corona virus, after each mutation it develops, becomes more capable of spreading and transmitting the infection, but it is less serious and dangerous than before.”

The immunologist cited the new Corona variant in China, adding: “Despite the increase in the number of infected people among citizens, the resulting mortality rate is low and limited.”

He explained that the reason for naming the mutant Doomsday with this name is due to the big jump it has caused in the daily rate of Corona virus infection in China, however, it poses no danger in terms of severity of symptoms, complications and death.

Al-Haddad stressed the importance of including Corona vaccines in the seasonal vaccination list, to renew the body’s immunity against Covid-19 infection, which reduces infection rates with the virus and its mutants throughout the world.

He concluded his speech by warning against negligence in getting the booster shot for Corona vaccines, because as the number of those who don’t get them increases, infection rates with the virus will rise again, and this it will help it mutate into new mutations, while also emphasizing the need to adhere to precautionary measures.
