Riding on the image of the legendary Ford, this zero-emission SUV aims to revolutionize the human-machine relationship. And, for once, exoticism and pragmatism go hand in hand.
Admittedly, this Mustang does not make its big V8 gurgle at a red light and its mode of propulsion limits the range of its rides. However, the Mach-E – pronounced “maki” – remains a UFO just like the legendary American icon. It was therefore quite legitimate that its grille be stamped with the famous galloping horse rather than the blue oval, distinctive of the Ford brand. Aesthetically, this crossover with a coupe profile does not leave you indifferent. We are immediately seduced by its powerful lines and its beautiful size (4.71 m).
The remark also applies to the interior. And even if Tesla owners will cry plagiarism, the huge touchscreen (15.5 inches) shines with its ergonomics and intuitiveness, while the small screen housed behind the wheel displays essential information. Made in Mexico, this resolutely unique electric is content with a modest carrying capacity (402 liters). It does, however, the full battery side. In this Extended Range version, the Mustang wagon delivers nearly 100 kWh of energy (88 kWh useful) guaranteeing it more than 300 kilometers of autonomy on the motorway. Efficient and fun to drive, the Mach-E exudes a real pleasure.

With two motors (one on each axle) and a mode that allows you to no longer use the brake pedal, the SUV only sins by the lack of holding its damping, but it reveals a nice sense of connectivity. Via the Ford Pass app, you can locate or start the vehicle remotely, and even calculate the remaining range. Finally, if the price of this version is enough to cool the hottest supporters of the “Pony car”, remember that the range starts at € 45,990, bonus deducted, with an engine (269 hp) and a battery (76 kWh) more modest.

It’s good to evolve, but electric is not my thing. I would always prefer a 400 hp V8 to this type of engine. I need the sound of the engine. Like a Harley, if there is no noise, I’m not interested. In short, this Mach-E, in my opinion, is not a Mustang despite its charming grille.
Your dream car?
The 1967 Mustang Cabriolet. What class! I could buy it even knowing that I will never drive it. This car is like Johnny Halliday, it’s not really my generation, but that doesn’t stop me from loving it.

I think first of my father’s Lada break. It was the first car I went on vacation with. This car knew how to do everything. And since I am an absolute fan of Inspector Columbo, I would say the Peugeot 403. I have seen all the episodes several times. I do not get enough. The car fits the character so well.
