Elon Musk did not take the corona danger very seriously from the start. He insulted the lockdown in Alameda County last week as “fascist”.

The corona lockdown in California has been in effect for around two months. In mid-March the US sunshine state was among the first in the country to close shops and factories. A far-reaching opening is not in sight, it is “months away,” said Governor Gavin Newsom (52) last week.

For Tesla boss Elon Musk (48) too much of a good thing. Over the weekend, he threatened the Californian to withdraw the company’s headquarters with immediate effect. Musk brought up Nevada or Texas as alternatives. Governor Newsom showed himself willing to compromise for the Tesla plant and promised to resume production in the coming week.

All’s well that ends well? Not at all! Musk has the dispute escalating on Monday!

Musk defies the authorities and starts production
The founder of the electric car group announced at the start of the week on Twitter that he would immediately start up the Tesla main plant in the town of Fremont. It started again on Monday, as pictures in the US media showed. Musk himself is said to be in California, as he claims on Twitter. “If someone is arrested, I’ll ask that it’s just me,” he promises.

In Alameda County, where the Tesla plant is located, as with the rest of the state, night-out restrictions still apply to prevent the spread of the corona virus. Musk not only threatened the weekend, he even filed a lawsuit on Tesla’s behalf. It will take weeks, if not months, for legal clarity to pass.

Musk is one of the corona ignorants
Elon Musk did not take the corona danger very seriously from the start. He insulted the lockdown in Alameda County last week as “fascist”. The entrepreneur also fueled corona ignorants on Twitter, who have been protesting the going-out restrictions in the United States for some time. For example, at the end of April he wrote “Free America, Now!” on the short message service. A message that the protesters and also US President Donald Trump (73) keep using.

The corporate headquarters in Fremont is central to Tesla. Most vehicles by far are built there, while production in the new second plant in China is just starting up.
