Musk responded to a news report that the Canadian government wants to cut money flows to demonstrating truckers by asking financial institutions not to execute orders that mention certain crypto addresses. That digital currency would give the truckers money. The Tesla CEO posted a picture of Hitler with the text ‘Don’t compare me to Justin Trudeau. I had a budget’. In 2019 and 2020, the Trudeau government did not submit a budget, but it did last summer.

Earlier, Musk expressed his support for the truckers who are protesting in Canada against a vaccination obligation. Musk indicated that he himself is in favor of vaccination against the coronavirus, but he is against the obligation. At an earlier point in the pandemic, he also called lockdowns fascist.

Strikingly, Musk made a joke on Twitter at the end of January that Hitler is quoted too often when people disagree with each other on the social network.

Musk tweets a lot and often gets into trouble. In 20218 he sent a message that he wanted to take Tesla off the stock exchange and had the financing for it, but that turned out not to be the case. He eventually reached a settlement in that case with the US stock watchdog SEC.
