The Potsdam Sanssouci Music Festival takes you to historical places in music history for an evening. The festival director and recorder player Dorothee Oberlinger brings together high-ranking early music artists for a diverse program at original locations.

Arias and scenes that were composed for this location are performed in the newly renovated palace theater and Bach’s “Musical Sacrifice” can be heard in the music room of Frederick the Great. There Bach himself improvised fugues on the “royal theme”.
