Murcia City Council Secures Funding to Develop Audiovisual Creation Center in Artillery Barracks and Old Jail

MURCIA. A credit file de almost 3 million euros will be used to finance the audiovisual creation center that the Murcia City Council wants to develop in the Artillery Barracks and the Old Jail and that was presented as a project in the last legislature. This was approved in plenary.

The Murcia City Council will make available to SMEs as a Hub for audiovisual and video game production two of the most emblematic BIC buildings loved by the citizens of Murcia: the Old Jail and the two modules of the old Artillery Barracks. It is about 7,000 useful m2 built divided into two buildings that are located in the heart of the city connecting it and structuring it from north to south. In both locations, audiovisual activity will alternate with other cultural uses.

The first line is the creation of the Audiovisual Hub, The second will be the mentoring of SMEs, as well as the development of different projects and training in the different audiovisual and video game disciplines. and learning the use of machinery and specific software. The third line will be the co-production of the projects developed in which the Murcia City Council, through the different work areas, will develop projects that benefit companies and help generate jobs within the sector.

These three lines of action will be complemented by two phases of specific work for each of the sectors; In the case of the audiovisual sector, a program will be implemented with the creation of a filming office and to promote the video game sector, the orientation and promotion of Gamers will be worked on, a skills training plan or intermediation in the world of work with an internship program and stays in companies.
