Municipality of Ioanniton: Open event to address the climate crisis

An open event entitled: “Agents and Citizens discuss the Climate Pact” is organized by the Municipality of Ioannito on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 9:00 am. in the meeting room of the “A. Tsakalov” Municipal Council.

The purpose of the event is for the Municipality, agencies and citizens to discuss the climate pact, to be informed and to determine the actions that will allow Ioannina to become one of the 100 climate neutral cities for 2030.

The event will be opened with a greeting by the Mayor of Ioannina, Mr. Dimitrios Papageorgiou, while the event will be addressed by Mr. Panagiotis Voulellis, MSc Urban Engineer, European Climate Pact Ambassador, Member of the Committee of Experts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece on Climate Neutrality, Ms. . Christiana Polyzou (LEVER), Environmental Engineer, PhD “Lever – Development Consultants SA”, Mr. Ioannis Aisopos, Professor of Architecture & Urban Planning and President, Department of Architects, University of Patras, Mr. Georgios Panetsos, Professor of Architecture & Urban Planning, Department of Architects, University of Patras, Mr. Thanos Vlastos, Emeritus Professor of NTUA, Urban Planner – Transportation Specialist, Ms. Maria Siti, Agronomist Topographical Engineer, Transportation Specialist, MSc Urban Planner, Researcher of the NTUA Sustainable Mobility Unit and Mr. Konstantinos Karatsolis, Lawyer – Environmental and Urban Planning Law.

The stake is high and the benefits for all citizens even greater, as the main goal is the continuous upgrading of a circular model of development and economy as a lever for promoting climate neutrality and effectively addressing climate change.
