AT Colomiers, near Toulouse, we take the same ones as in 2014 and we start again. It’s the same casting as in the previous ballot which will play the second round of the municipal elections, on June 28, 2020.

Karine Michelet Work, outgoing PS mayor (42.10% of the votes in the first round) will face a competitor on his left, Patrick Jimena (27.34%), and, further to the right, the candidate supported by LR and LREM Damien Laborde (22.52%).

Eric Kaczmarek joins Patrick Jimena

Patrick Jimena launched a call for political union to help Colomiers “to better face the health and economic crisis we are going through”.

Eric Kaczmarek, who appeared in the first round in dissent from LREM in the first round and obtained 5.91% of the votes, responded favorably to this call. “A first exchange allowed us to agree on the orientations presented on the text of the call for union: defense of public services, solidarity to leave no one on the sidelines, strengthened local democracy, ecological transition, local economy resilient, ”says Patrick Jimena.

For his part Eric Kaczmarek declares:

I have always been a center-left man. I no longer find myself in the policy of the government which has gone astray in logics benefiting only the richest people. The time has come to come together to provide Colomiers with local solutions to the current social and economic difficulties of its inhabitants. Today, the union of our two lists brings real complementarities for the skills and projects that the city of tomorrow will need.

Damien Laborde (LR, LREM) persists

Patrick Jimena received a dismissal from Karine Michelet-Traval, supported by the PS and EELV but especially by Damien Laborde, whose third position did not resign him to withdraw his candidacy. “I am standing by and will be there on June 28,” said the young entrepreneur to News Toulouse, a few hours before submitting its list to the prefecture, Tuesday June 2.

As a reminder, during the second of the 2014 municipal elections, Karine Michel-Travail (PS) had collected 40, 62% of the votes against 39, 30% of the votes for Patrick Jimena and 20.07% for Damien Laborde. A historic bastion of political socialism for more than a century, the second city of the department had failed to fall into the hands of an environmentalist. For … 198 small voices.
