Municipal elections | Dijon: why the UDI calls for voting Bichot in the second round

The president of the Union of Democrats and Independents in Côte-d’Or (UDI 21), Pascal Grappin, held a press conference Friday morning as part of the municipal elections in Dijon.
First, he returned to the “disappointing” score collected by the list of candidate Sylvain Comparot during the first round, in which several representatives of the UDI appeared, including city councilor Franck Ayache (8.81%, 4th position ): “In recent years, during municipal elections, the score for the Union of the Right and the Center has been constantly decreasing. We thought that the only solution to put the outgoing mayor in difficulty was to make a union As wide as possible. And that’s what we worked on around Sylvain Comparot. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to convince the Republicans to join us, and the campaign was animated internally at LREM … The result did not live up to expectations. “

“We are opponents of François Rebsamen”

During the next 2020-2026 mandate, there will therefore be no UDI representative on the Dijon municipal council. Despite everything, Pascal Grappin and Franck Ayache spoke on the second round. They call to vote for the list of the republican right led by Emmanuel Bichot (LR, Agir pour Dijon): “We are the representatives of the center right, and as such, we are opponents of François Rebsamen” declared Franck Ayache. “It is natural to call to vote for Mr. Bichot’s list because it is the only outgoing majority opposition list in this second round.”
