The IBA Society’s task is to manage the International Building Exhibition – the first in Bavaria – in the Munich metropolitan region over the next ten years and to support it through intensive project work. The IBA will cover a wide range of disciplines including architecture, technology, social innovation and cultural integration. At the end of this period, the respective sponsors should exhibit their realized and built projects and present them to an international expert audience.
The International Building Exhibition is an instrument of urban and regional development. In a defined region, new ideas and projects on social, technological and ecological topics are implemented over a longer period of time, with particular attention to aspects of building culture. The aim is to provide new impetus to bring about change.
