The development of Tuesday’s events at the World Cup was commented in an interview with TVN24 reporter Tomasz Mildyn by PZPN spokesman and national team manager Jakub Kwiatkowski. – It’s definitely a feeling. I think it can be considered historically, it is one of the greatest sensations in the history of the World Cup Saudi Arabia defeated Argentina.
“It is a big shock, especially for the Argentines. Hardly anyone expected it, even though we knew that Saudi Arabia is not a weak team. We would all like to rejoice after this match like the Saudis after winning against Argentina. Of course we believe it, I think we can win this game, but it will be a difficult game because they are a strong opponent. Talking about the Polish players’ last hours before the match against Mexico, Kwiatkowski described: – Calm and concentration. Whether it’s a World Cup match or a friendly, this day is the same. In the morning after breakfast the players have a restart, we did this at the hotel, before lunch there was a briefing and after dinner free time. Now it’s time for the last meal before departure. Latest check-in is in 45 minutes. After that we get on the bus and at 17 we leave for the match.
Are the players stressed? – We are not talking about paralysis, but rather about emotions, excitement. Our players play in serious clubs, in serious leagues, so they can cope with such a load and stress perfectly. Even now Piotrek Zieliński and Nicola Zalewski played table tennis.
