When play was stopped on the second day, skipper Ajinkya Rahane (58 off 109 balls including one six and four fours) and Musheer Khan (51 off 135 balls) were at the crease. The third wicket stand is 107 runs. Prithvi Shah (11) and Bhupan Lalwani (18) were out. Mumbai have taken a lead of 260 runs so far. With Vidarbha all out for 105, Mumbai took a 119-run lead in the first innings. Vidarbha can win the title only if miracles happen.
Vidarbha was crushed when Dhawal Kulkarni, Shams Mulani and Tanush Kodiyan took three wickets each. Bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur took a wicket. Dhawal Kulkarni, who is playing the last Ranji match of his career, gave Vidarbha the most trouble. Aditya Thackeray and Akshay Wadkar combined for 40 runs for the fifth wicket was the only thing that could be said about Vidarbha. Yash Rathod was the top scorer with 27 runs off 67 balls. Opener Atharva Thaide (23), Aditya Thackeray (19) and Yash Thakur (16) are the others who have crossed double figures. Skipper Akshay Wadkar (five) and others disappointed. Shardul Thakur (75 including three sixes and eight fours in 69 balls) brought Mumbai to 200 after facing a batting collapse.
