Multiple vulnerabilities in graphics card drivers and software from Nvidia

25. June 2020 –
Nvidia announces that several vulnerabilities have been found in the drivers for its graphics cards. This could lead to denial-of-service attacks, the appropriation of user privileges by third parties or the disclosure of information.

Several, sometimes serious, security vulnerabilities have been found in Nvidia’s graphics card drivers. Like the manufacturer in one Security warning reports, the vulnerabilities could be used to carry out denial of service attacks. Attackers could also gain access to the target computer via user rights and also steal personal data.

Both Windows and Linux users are affected. Nvidia has already released updates for its drivers. Vulnerabilities have also been found in the vGPU software, which has also been updated.

Owners of Nvidia graphics cards should get the latest drivers with the version numbers 451.48 (Windows) and 450.51 (Linux) immediately from the Manufacturer website download and install. (luc)
