Müller sees companies as having an obligation to test strategy – Berlin.de

Berlin’s Governing Mayor Michael Müller also sees companies as having an obligation to test strategy against Corona. Many companies have already made offers to their employees here. “But there can and must be significantly more,” said the SPD politician on Tuesday morning (March 23, 2021) after the country chiefs had consulted with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU).

The assessment of science is clear here. “There is a great deal of infection at the points where people believe they are safe.” That is the case in the family, but also in companies at work. That is why it is correct to say: “We need the help of the companies, and there should also be a test offer for the employees that the companies have to implement twice a week,” said Müller. “I think that one can expect to make such a test offer for the employees.”

However, according to the decision paper, the federal and state governments initially continue to rely on the voluntary nature of companies for the corona tests for employees. At the beginning of April, the business associations would present a first implementation report on how many companies are participating, said Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU). On this basis and on the basis of its own survey, the Federal Government will then assess whether there is a need for regulatory action in the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance.
