German Nico Müller (Audi) was the fastest of the two Friday free practice sessions organized by the DTM on the Lausitzring. More simply, Audi dominated its opponent BMW during these training sessions.
During FP1, only one M4 (that of Philipp Eng), was inserted in the top 7! The second session was more encouraging with the third time of Sheldon van der Linde. As for the only French representative, Loïc Duval (Audi), the hopes glimpsed in FP1 (7th) were not followed up a few hours later (14th).
