Ahmed Mujahid, a former member of the Football Association Council, confirmed that he will not run for the next Football Association elections, whether the 8-year clause was adopted or canceled.
Mujahid said in televised statements to the Primo program via “Ten” channel, that if Hani Abu Rida is running for the position of president of the Football Association in the upcoming elections, no one will be able to stop him, and no one is right for his opponent, ruling that Ahmed Shoubir will be nominated for the position of president in facing him.
It is noteworthy that Ahmed Shubert was a deputy to Hani Abu Ridah in the former Football Association Council, which included Mujahid as a member of the Board of Directors, before differences emerged between Shubert on one side, and Abu Raida and Mujahid on the other side, after the Federation submitted its resignation following the early exit from the African Cup of Nations.
Mujahid pointed out that Amr Al-Janaini, the chairman of the five-year committee in charge of managing the Football Association, is not fit to be elected to the presidency of the federation, adding that “he is suitable for the post of president of the temporary committee affiliated with FIFA.”
He continued: “The quinquennial committee or the normalization committee as he called it FIFA, is charged with 5 matters, which are: managing the daily affairs of the union, making a list of statutes or verifying the existence of a list that is identical to FIFA, and making sure that the regulations of the member clubs are identical to the regulations in the union, and following up the club elections according to For regulations, preparing for new elections for a new board of directors for the union for a period of 4 years. “
On the authority of Mohamed Fadl, a member of the five-year committee, the former member of the Football Association said that he is one of his sons, but he was wronged because of his transfer from the presidency of the Organizing Committee for the 2019 African Nations Cup to the Football Association directly.
He explained: “Hani Abu Raida and I supported Fadl and Shilna during his work in the tournament, and advised him not to move to work in the Football Association at the present time, and we were thinking about presenting him in the upcoming elections, but the work of the union was harmed thanks to having brought him from the high lights of the tournament to the corridors of the Football Federation and its struggles.”
