Muhammad Ridwan Profile: Tall Striker for U23 National Team, Front Line Option at SEA Games All

KOMPAS.com – Striker Persik Kediri tall, Muhammad Ridwan, became one of the players who was able to attract Shin Tae-yong’s attention. Ridwan was also given the opportunity to take part in the training camp Indonesian U23 National Team in South Korea.

Muhammad Ridwan’s name was included in the list of 29 players called by Shin Tae-yong to attend the training camp or training center (TC) Indonesia’s U23 national team ahead of SEA Games 2021 in Vietnam.

Minus Crowded Rumakiek who was crossed out, Shin Tae-yong called four front players to join the U23 national team TC which is projected to appear at the 2021 SEA Games.

One of Shin Tae-yong’s preferred forwards is Persik Kediri’s young striker, Muhammad Ridwan.

Apart from Ridwan, the other available forwards are two wing attackers, namely Irfan Jaya and Egy Maulana Vikri and one center forward, namely Hanis Saghara.

Together with Persebaya Surabaya goalkeeper, Andhika Ramadhani, and Persija Jakarta wing-back, Rio Fahmi, Muhammad Ridwan also became debutants in the U23 national team squad.

Ridwan then went to South Korea, where Garuda Muda underwent TC in preparation for the 2021 SEA Games.

Muhammad Ridwan also scored one goal via a penalty kick when the U23 national team won 4-2 over Andong Science College in a test match which was held on Thursday (21/4/2022).

Muhammad Ridwan’s Career Journey

Muhammad Ridwan was born in Kendal, Central Java, on June 13, 2000. He graduated from the Ragunan Special School for Athletes (SKO).

At the junior level, Ridwan played for Persab Brebes.

Even though he is only 21 years old, Muhammad Ridwan is recorded to have strengthened a number of well-known clubs in the country, from Sriwijaya FC, Persela Lamongan, to PSIS Semarang.

Last year, Ridwan moved to Persik Kediri after not getting enough playing minutes at PSIS.

Was plagued by injury hamstring at the beginning of the 2021-2022 Liga 1 season, Muhammad Ridwan had to wait until the 12th week to make his debut with Persik.

Ridwan scored his first and only goal in the Liga 1 competition last season when the White Tigers won 2-0 over Persita Tangerang in the 16th week.

In total, Muhammad Ridwan collected nine appearances with Persik Kediri in Liga 1 2021-2022.

With a body posture of 184 cm, Ridwan is one of the attractive options on the front lines of the Indonesian U23 national team made by Shin Tae-yong.

Of the four offensive players that Shin Tae-yong has in the Garuda Muda squad for the 2021 SEA Games which will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam, on 12-23 May 2022, Muhammad Ridwan is the player with the tallest body.
