MSI announces desktop PC with AMD apu targeting cloud gaming – Computer – News

MSI has introduced the MSI MAG Trident S 5M. That’s a desktop PC focused on cloud gaming. Customers can choose between three AMD APUs with integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics. MSI has not yet announced a price.

From MAG Trident S 5M measures 334.7 x 185.4 x 93 mm and weighs 2.42 kg. The PC gets a 120W power supply, is cooled by a single fan in combination with an extensive heatpipe and contains an AMD B300 motherboard. The system can be ordered with a Ryzen 3 5300Ga Ryzen 5 5600Gor a Ryzen 7 5700G APU from AMD with integrated Radeon Vega graphics. These apus run at 65W.

All versions can be equipped with a maximum of 64GB DDR4 RAM that runs at 3200MHz, divided over two sodimm slots. The MAG Trident S 5M contains a slot for 2.5” hard disk or SSD and two M.2 2280 slots that work via a PCIe Gen 3 interface. MSI states that the various parts of the PC are easy to replace.

The device also has an HDMI 2.0 connection, a DisplayPort 1.4 port, a VGA port, Gigabit Ethernet connection, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, a USB 2.0 and three USB 3.2 Gen 2 connections, one of which is USB-C .

MSI supplies the MAG Trident S 5M with Windows 11 Home and its own Android emulator, MSI App Player, which was developed in collaboration with BlueStacks. The Game Stadium software should then become a hub in which launchers and other multimedia services are brought together.
