An honorary teacher in the district Semarang, Afifah Muflihati (27) entangled in online loan network (pinjol) to hundreds of millions. Initially only borrowing Rp. 3 million, Afifah’s debt swelled to Rp. 206.3 million.
Afifah’s attorney, Muhammad Sofyan, said that Afifah borrowed money online to buy children’s milk. Afifah has two children who are still toddlers.
“Actually, initially he borrowed the money online for his daily needs, especially buying milk for children because his two children are still toddlers,” explained Afifah’s attorney, Muhammad Sofyan, when contacted detik.com, Friday (4/6).
Afifah was interested in doing a loan at Pinjol after reading the loan advertisement on her cellphone. Sofyan said that Afifah’s husband who worked odd jobs made Afifah and her husband feel the need to borrow money online. He does not want to be complicated if he has to borrow money at conventional banks.
“Her husband works odd jobs. This Afifah chooses pinjol because they feel complicated if they have to borrow from a conventional bank, especially since the advertisement on the loan was initially considered not burdensome,” he explained.
Debt Rp 5, only receive Rp 3.5 million
On March 20, 2021, Afifah borrowed Rp 5 million from the Tree UangKu application. But the funds obtained were only Rp. 3.7 million with a tenor of 7 days.
Within 5 days, terror began to be obtained by Afifah to immediately pay off her debt. Apart from Afifah, her colleagues also felt terror.
“Terror was obtained by Afifah, because the loan agency was able to access data on Afifah’s cellphone. Apart from Afifah who was terrorized, all of her colleagues including teachers and school principals received Afifah’s data from the loan with a tendency to attack,” he said.
Sofyan said that the money Afifah borrowed had not been used for daily needs. He decided to return it in pinjol that. The problem occurred because the return of Rp. 3.7 million made Afifah entangled in the initial debt of Rp. 1.3 million.
