Mozambique’s Finance Minister Manuel Chang to be Extradited to US in Credit Scandal Case: Good News for Credit Suisse

Mozambique’s Finance Minister Manuel Chang has been simmering in South Africa’s prison for almost five years. The United States and Mozambique have been fighting over his extradition for so long. At the end of the week the time had come, because South Africa’s highest court finally decided: Chang has to go to the USA. The US judiciary jet that is supposed to bring the prominent prisoner to the US has already landed in South Africa, reports the Financial Times. This is good news for Credit Suisse. Because Chang is considered the mastermind behind the credit scandal that brought the big bank into disrepute worldwide (see box).
