Move, Nature Moves

As you read this article, whether you realize it or not, time goes on. In the morning when you go to work or start your activities, the sun appears from the east. At dusk or at night when you come home from work, the sun is already on the western horizon or maybe you can’t see it. If you focus on your activities or work, the time of the day may not be felt. Maybe we’ll say it’s already late, ehh it’s morning again, ehh it’s Monday again, ehh it’s been a month and so on. And in this month of March, it doesn’t feel like it’s even been two years since we have lived in the atmosphere of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The recording of life at the beginning of the writing above, whether we realize it or not because nature continues to move and time goes on. Yes, the universe is never stationary, the sun, earth, moon, and other celestial bodies are moving. Elements that exist on earth such as earth, water, air also move. The movement of water and air is certainly easy to observe. We can see the movement of the ground, for example, after the earthquake in Pasaman, West Sumatra and Banten last week.

Animals big and small are clearly seen moving. Plants also move, of course, unlike animals and humans. Microscopic living things such as bacteria, viruses and other living things that inhabit the earth also move. The universe is always in motion, from atomic particles to the billions of stars in the galaxy. So if nature, which contains more inanimate objects, moves, of course we as humans should also have to move.

In atomic theory, there are parts of the atom called electrons that move around the atomic nucleus in their respective paths. Objects in our solar system such as the moon, planets and asteroids also move on their paths. Likewise the sun and the stars circulate in their respective lanes. Its movements are regular according to the will of the Creator or the term moves according to sunatullah

In theoretical physics, an object in motion has a velocity. Earth rotates at a speed of 1,670 km/hour. The speed of the earth moving around the sun is 110,000 km/hour. The speed of the sun’s motion around the Milky Way galaxy and other stars is about 720,000 km/hour. However, the speed with which humans navigate the ocean of life is relatively different for each individual. It depends on the extent to which humans can understand themselves and their goals in life

The movement of cells, blood flow, body growth movements, movements in the respiratory system, digestive system, and other organ systems in the human body also follow sunatullah. However, unlike other creatures on earth, humans as special beings are given the freedom to move where they want to live. Yes, because humans are gifted with something special to be able to think, choose and will. That something is the brain by which man is called a rational being.

The movement of human life on this earth is a journey. The world is not the final destination of conscious human steps, Life is a journey Not destination. Because everything in this world is temporary. Beauty and good looks may be felt or last only half a century. Ranks and positions have limits and periods. Wealth will not be enjoyed forever. There are many stories of rich people who died due to covid or other diseases where their wealth could not help their destiny at all.

So we have to choose wisely so that our movements and journeys in the world do not go the wrong way. Because in essence the motion of our lives is a choice. Before moving, of course, we will choose, both consciously and spontaneously. Consciously means we think before we act. Spontaneously means it has become a habit or character or we practice it often. And all of our choices have consequences. We move there are consequences. Our silence has consequences too.

The way humans move or live life is certainly different from one another. Many choose to be ordinary people. Fewer choose to be extraordinary. These choices can change as knowledge develops. And the active thought process will push the direction of each person’s choice.

Writing is one of the preferred ways of moving from a few people. Writing articles and books or other works is the choice of some people in traveling. Yes, work is a way for humans to move and travel so that their lives are meaningful. Humans without work and legacy may be considered worthless human beings. If he dies, people will easily forget his name.

People who are physically inactive will cause health problems for them. Many diseases are caused by lack of movement such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease, stroke and others.

Because humans are not only made up of physical elements, the motion of other elements is also needed. The mind (brain) and heart (heart) must first be trained to move positively. Moving the mind so that we get used to thinking before acting. Move the heart so that our lives are directed according to divine nature. Moving the mind and heart then we will be careful and act wisely. Like a bicycle that is continuously pedaled, moving all human elements as a whole will maintain the balance and survival of humans and the universe.

In fact life is moving. However, the life of the mortal world will not last forever. So it would be very wise and prudent if in life, we take advantage of the five before the five come. And may our movements and works lead us to become noble and happy people. From Ibn ‘Abbas ra, the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said, “Take advantage of five things before five things: your youth before your old age, your healthy time before your sick time, your rich time before your poor time, your free time before your busy time, your life before your death.” (HR. Al-Hakim)
