Motorola’s Clamshell Android smartphone goes on sale immediately in the UK and Europe. While we wait for June 16th to start pre-ordering the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra in the US, sales are already underway in China.
according to GSM Arena, many Chinese consumers were interested in the smartphone. As a result, the phone was sold out on its first open sale day. Motorola China’s official Weibo account confirmed that 10,000 pieces of Motorola Razr 40 Ultra have been sold. Razr 40 Ultra has been sold on all online platforms of both Motorola and Lenovo. Third-party stores such as JD.com and Tmall are also out of stock. All this happened on the same day that the company opened sales.
Notable Features of Motorola Razr 40 Ultra
Since the day of its announcement, the foldable phone has received a lot of positive reviews. The device showed some impressive improvements over its predecessor, Motorola Razr 2022. A notable example of such improvements is its external screen which is 3.6″ over 2.7 in Razr 2022. The size of this screen is also on top like a clamshell smartphone with the largest external screen. It beats the likes of Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, etc. in this category.
Besides the redesigned hinge and a more polished look, Motorola Razr 40 Ultra also has some great specs. For example, the screen on the Razr 40 Ultra is 6.9 with a better resolution of 1080 x 2640 pixels. Also, the 120Hz refresh rate screen looks sharper with a pixel density of 413ppi. Although the charging speed is still 30W on this model, there is a slight increase in battery size from 3,500mAh to 3,800mAh.
Cons of Motorola Razr 40 Ultra 
As sleek and luxurious as it may look, Motorola’s foldable smartphone has a few areas where the company could have improved. The first drawback of this device is its camera system. Similar to its predecessor, the Razr 40 Ultra also comes with a dual camera setup. However, the company decided to downgrade the camera technology rather than upgrade it. The previous version featured a 50MP main camera while the latest model features a 12MP main sensor.
The second camera, which is an ultra-resolution lens, remains 13 megapixels. However, the company has also reduced the viewing angle from 120 degrees to 108 degrees. It is also worth noting that the 8K video capabilities of the Motorola Razr 2022 have been reduced to 4K on this latest model.
