Motorola Razr 40 Ultra: Outer Screen Vulnerability and Sand Test Review

The outer screen of the Motorola razr 40 ultra can break and bend if users press hard on it. This is evident from JerryRigEverything’s bend test, where the aim was actually to test the inner, folding screen.

In the bend test, JerryRigEverything puts pressure on the outer parts of the phone, close to the hinge, to bend the foldable screen the wrong way. A cracking sound is heard during this test. This does not come from the folding screen, but rather from the outer screen, where JerryRigEverything applied pressure with his thumb. That screen is faulty, with a dimple where his thumb used to be. The screen still shows partial image.

“We’ve never been able to break a screen like that with one finger.” There appears to be nothing behind this screen to support the screen, but rather a hollow space. That’s why JerryRigEverything was able to break the screen so easily. Another part of the phone stands out in a positive tone; although the phone with its IP54 certification should only be able to withstand dust to a limited extent, the phone still manages to pass a sand test.

Motorola announced the razr 40 ultra in June. Tweakers released a review of the foldable phone at the time. The device, which is called razr phone plus in the US, has a 3.6-inch OLED screen on the front.
