Motorola is trying to rotate the display. He doesn’t want to create any hybrid, but rather hide a slightly smaller phone in his pocket – MobilMania.cz

At the ongoing Lenovo Tech World 2022 event, Lenovo demonstrated a mobile smartphone concept under the Motorola brand. At first glance, this is a rather small phone concept with a flexible five-inch display that can be transformed into a phone with a 6.5 “display. The development of the concept, nicknamed” Felix “, has been attributed to the 312 Labs development group, which is part of the Motorola brand.

A short demonstration video (see below) shows a phone with an unconventional display aspect ratio (apparently very close to the 4: 3 aspect ratio). After pressing the side button, the bottom of the display will be pulled out of the body of the phone, revealing the bottom row of icons and system touch controls.

Lenovo showed at the event a phone with a flexible 5 “display. If necessary, part of the display can be pulled out from the inside, which suddenly will have a diagonal of 6.5 inches

This Motorola approach differs in many ways from the competition, which slides the display horizontally to have a “tablet” display. However, the more we look at Motorola’s concept, the stronger we get the impression that it is primarily a 6.5 “phone that wants to be as small as possible when you put it in your pocket, so you don’t have to lug around a big one.” Scoop. “Unrolling the display will happen by pressing the side button, but Motorola hasn’t added any more details yet, so we don’t even know how long the motor that helps slide the display outward will have or the display itself.

Lenovo Tech World 2022 and the Motorola mobile concept:

At the Lenovo Tech World 2022 event, the concept was seen in the phase of a real working prototype, but there is still a lot of work to be done before any commercially available product. Motorola has not yet announced when it will put a similar device on sale. And this also applies to the second concept presented, which was a laptop with a sliding display.
