JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – A motorcyclist who blocked the ambulance on Jalan Otista Raya, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, turned out to be a member of the Indonesian Army with the initials Praka AMT.
The action of the Indonesian Army personnel took place on Thursday (12/8/2021). In addition to blocking the road, AMT Praka also hit the car’s driver’s window.
The ambulance that was passing by was carrying a baby who needed medical attention because it was in an emergency condition.
Responding to the incident, the Indonesian Army Information Service (Dispenad) revealed that Praka AMT had been legally processed two days after the incident or on Saturday (14/8/2021).
AMT Praka must undergo a further examination process to account for his actions.
“To account for his actions, Praka AMT starting Saturday (14/8/2021) will undergo an examination process in accordance with applicable law,” wrote an official statement from Dispenad quoted on Tuesday (17/8/2021).
According to the Dispenad statement, the TNI AD took firm steps against Praka AMT because it had become the determination and commitment of the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), General TNI Andika Perkasa.
This was done to build the professionalism of the TNI AD with integrity. And comply with applicable laws and regulations.
