O Moto G42 is another one of several Motorola launches that arrived in Brazil in 2022. It has a lot in common with the Moto G52 and even competes on price. Is this the best buy? Let’s find out.
This is a Motorola cell phone with a plastic body and a smooth finish. It can be found in Brazil in blue or pink and differs from the top model in the line by having a more rectangular camera block and wider edges around the screen. The biometric reader sits on the power button on the side and works fine.
The G42 features a 6.4-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution and a 60 Hz OLED panel. The refresh rate is disappointing for the category, considering that Motorola has already released lower models with a 90 Hz screen. At least the brightness is high, the colors vibrant and the viewing angle quite wide. The stereo sound is not the most powerful, but it delivers good sound quality.
This is yet another mid-range phone with Snapdragon 680 and we have 4GB of RAM to handle multitasking. It is the same configuration seen in the Moto G52 and, like the most advanced model, it also lacks performance with several applications open at the same time. At least the battery lasts a long time, but it takes almost two hours to recharge.
The photographic set consists of a 50 MP camera, hybrid ultra-wide and blur with 8 MP and 2 MP macro. The front has a 16 MP sensor. Photo quality is good, but don’t expect too much from HDR. Shooting in the late afternoon will be tricky and will have dark photos, while shooting at night will have images with a lot of noise. The camcorder records in Full HD and loses fluidity when shooting with the rear and front at the same time.
