The former model doesn’t hide that she got a lot of backlash when she announced her pregnancy, as most people thought she was far too old to get pregnant at 55 – including her four sons.

These days, Nielsen lives in the Spanish city of Marbella with her husband and daughter. She says that she could not be happier with her life as it is now.

Earlier, the 60-year-old told in an interview with The Guardian that she and her husband had been trying to conceive for over a decade. The couple were told they only had a 2.5 percent chance of success. After trying test tube treatment for 13 years, the dream finally came true.
Speaking to People, Nielsen points out that she had been warned in advance by the doctor, who asked her to be realistic about her chances of getting pregnant.

– I had a long time to prepare for Frida. So when it finally happened, it was just amazing. And then there was fear, because it was a high-risk pregnancy when I was 54.
Despite a long process, Nielsen has previously revealed that she is open to becoming a mother of six, especially as her husband really wants another child, a son.
