JAKARTA, iNews.id – For mothers, giving Mother’s Milk (ASI) is a moment that must be enjoyed with feelings of happiness, because it has been proven to give goodness to the baby.
“When the mother is happy giving breast milk for her baby, milk production will increase and the quality of the milk produced will be much better,” said Clinical Psychologist, Indria Laksmi Gamayanti, in the Virtual Talkshow of National Family Day 2021 ‘Keluarga Keren Prevent Stunting’, Tuesday ( 29/6/2021).
That’s why it’s very important for mothers to feel happy and happy when breastfeeding. She explains what will happen when the mother feels anxious while breastfeeding.
“Unlike mothers who breastfeed in an anxious condition, the milk production becomes less and the child can refuse to drink milk. Why? When anxious, the mother’s body temperature increases, the heart rate becomes fast, and this makes the child uncomfortable in his mother’s arms and in the end refused to drink breast milk,” he said again.
The chairman of the Indonesian Association of Clinical Psychologists (IPK) also suggested that while breastfeeding, mothers should not hold their cellphones while breastfeeding. “Give your full attention to the baby because this will provide enormous benefits for growth and development,” he said.
“One of the problems that can arise due to exposure to gadgets in infants is the problem of speech delay. For that reason, gadgets should not be introduced to children under 2 years old,” he said again.
Furthermore, Prof. Hartono Gunardi, SpAK, who is also the Head of the Stunting Task Force of the Indonesian Pediatrician Association (IDAI) advised children under 2 years not to interact with gadget screens.
“IDAI does not recommend that children under 2 years of age have screen exposure to gadgets because it has an adverse effect on their growth,” he said.
