Jeddah: It is reported that Riyadh has the highest number of labor dispute cases in Saudi labor courts. This year alone, the total number of cases reached the Saudi labor court is more than 100,000.
According to the report, 426 cases reach the labor court every day. Most cases this year were reported in the Riyadh region. 30.5 percent of the total labor cases in Saudi Arabia or 30,530 cases reached the Riyadh Labor Court. Adjacent is the province of Makkah, which includes Jeddah. 26,677 cases reached the Labor Court in Makkah Province, while 13,111 cases reached the Eastern Province.
Asir 5,723, Madinah 5,335, Alqaseem 4,656, Hail 4,656, Tabuk 2,768, Jizan 2,487, Aljauf 1,918, Najran 1,072, Northern Frontier Province 956, and Albaha 768 in other regions of Saudi Arabia, reached labor courts and benches.
Efforts should be made to resolve disputes first in labor cases with a view to reducing the burden on the courts. If the dispute is not resolved amicably within 21 days, the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Development will refer the cases to the Labor Courts.
